Hello!
I am Venessa,

I am a senior at Utah Valley University.
My major is in Deaf Studies with an emphasis in
American Sign Language Interpreting.

I was first exposed to ASL in 1999. While attending a community college in Maryland, I eventually noticed that the classes I was attending were in the same hall as the the ASL classes. However, it was not until 2007 when I finally took my first ASL class while living in Northern California.

During the first part of my internship here at UVU, I have the pleasure of working with some of our Deaf studies professors and also with the ASLTA 2017 conference committee.

I enjoy working with the Deaf community and learning ASL. Through my program I have become better acquainted with the Deaf community, its culture and history.
